This special home in the sought-after Balnarring Beach area needed to be refreshed with a thoughtful renovation. We strived to create a space that is warm and inviting yet modern, open and drenched in natural light.
With this project it was important we started from the ground up, restumping and levelling part of the subfloor. We were then able to move on to transforming the living spaces, building larger window and door openings to allow the natural light to flow through the home.Smaller feature windows were also incorporated not just for light, but to provide framed vignettes of the picturesque outdoor views.
To enhance the warmth and overall ambience of the home, the doors, windows and architraves are styled with hardwood timber and striking black hardware for a classic yet contemporary aesthetic. In the kitchen, we employed meticulous joinery skills to install timber battens on the statement island bench for a rustic feel that harmonises with the timber used throughout. The beauty of the Japanese mosaic tiles blends seamlessly with the timber features, finishing to perfection the room’s sense of comfort and style.
An engineered timber floor and carpet add to the warmth and charm of the home — as does the new gas log fireplace, which provides both heat and hearth.
Meanwhile, the new ensuite bathroom is a welcoming sanctuary with eye catching features such as the stylish Terrazzo look floor-to-ceiling tiles, and a floating timber vanity for an organic touch.
To finish the home’s transformation, we created outside two stunning new decks featuring a west-facing timber arbour inviting the warmth and glow of the beachside winter sun to shine through. We are so proud to have helped create a family haven that is now fresh, cosy and awash with light.
