Japara Rye Sands Aged Care Home

Japara Rye Sands (Japara) wanted a solution for its underutilised outdoor area where residents could connect and unite. A sensory garden with many colours, scents and feelings gave residents the ability to get in touch with nature, while the vegetable garden added an element of fulfillment.

Within management of the project, there were a number of small, intricate tasks that needed to be coordinated, requiring close attention by the site manager. One of the most important considerations for Japara was the garden had to be safe and all areas fully accessible for residents and guests. To meet this requirement, accessibility ramps were built where needed. A newly constructed staff car park was also delivered at the same time as the sensory garden.

Japara trusted MP with the sensory garden project having confidence in the team’s skills, available resources and innovative approach. MP clearly demonstrated a sound knowledge of building and extensive experience, showing support from the beginning right through to project completion and aftercare.

"Thanks to Mick and his team for all their work on Japara’s project – it’s a great outcome for the home and residents. The solution-based approach made it a pleasure to work with Mick Pritchard and we look forward to working with them again."
